Coconut Crab curry

A quick and easy sea food delicacy, the recepie is courtesy my mom-in-law. I would say the most important thing in this dish is getting the most fresh crabs you can find.  If you are feeling particularly adventurous and get a live pair like us the first step would be to put them into hot boiling water for 10-15 mins. Alternatively, you could use the ones from the frozen section.

Make a smooth puree using two onions , 3 tomatoes, 2 large cloves garlic and an inch cube ginger and two green chillies. Set aside for later. Now take a couple teaspoon oil in a saucepan, once hot add chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder. To this add coconut powder (which has been dry roasted for a few mins).

Now add the tomato-onion puree to this, one cup water and bring to boil. Now add crabs and let it cook over medium heat for 15-20 mins till a rich golden-brown color.
Voila! Delicious crab curry. Serve with steamed rice.
